I'm trying to work out whether Deep Summer or Deep Winter is closer to my coloring. Navy seems easier for me to wear than pure black. That observation isn't enough to settle it, because my photos change a lot between daylight and warm indoor light. A very bright white top can look harsh near my face. Muted berry and charcoal seem promising, but I can't tell whether that's because of their depth or their softness. I'm hoping to test this with pieces from my closet first. I came across a page about deep summer color palette while collecting examples for a side-by-side check. Is charcoal against black a useful first comparison? I'm looking for a test I can repeat in the same light, not a diagnosis from one selfie. If you've faced the same choice, which pair of colors made the difference obvious? I can avoid changing the camera angle between pictures. Then the comparison should be less distracting. I can ask a friend to look at the same set of photos so I don't rely entirely on my own impression. A few concrete color pairs would help me start.

Some Venezuelan citizens have rejected acting President Delcy Rodriguez’s trip to the United Nations, where she is expected to speak at the General Assembly this week and meet privately with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday.

“I completely disagree with the UN welcoming that illegitimate woman in New York,” Nuris Medina told CNN while attending a protest in Caracas this morning alongside dozens of others.

Rodriguez became acting president in early January after the US captured President Nicolas Maduro in a military operation. He is being held in New York on various charges, which he denies. Rodriguez initially criticized Maduro’s arrest but has since had various dealings with the Trump administration, including an agreement for the US to control 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan oil.

Protester Margot Monasterios said Venezuelans are “grateful” to Trump for ousting Maduro tripscan but noted that key figures from his inner circle remain in power.

“Even though we thank you for taking away the worst of them all on January 3, you left us with the 40 thieves,” she said.

Away from the protest, other citizens shared similar opinions.

“I have a lot more life here,” Dreyfuss, who is originally from Texas, tells CNN Travel, before blissfully describing her frequent trips to local museums, movie theaters, and pop-up wineries in the Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage region in northern Portugal.

“My daughter came to visit one time, and asked, “Well, what do you guys do all day?” she recalls. “And my friend holds up a glass of Champagne and goes, “You’re looking at it.”

Dreyfuss loves the local food and usually eats out at least three times a week, something she simply couldn’t have afforded to do when she was based in San Diego, California, where she lived and worked as a teacher previously.

When she began teaching after working in corporate finance for years, Dreyfuss thought she’d end up with a retirement income that would provide her with a comfortable lifestyle.

Dreyfuss considered moving within the United States, and recalls driving up to Seattle and “stopping at a bunch of places,” but says she couldn’t find anywhere affordable enough to tempt her away.

After doing some research into European countries, Dreyfuss found that the only visa that she qualified for at the time was the Portugal D7 visa, which allows non-EU nationals with a stable passive income to reside in the country.
